This years flu vaccination campaign is well underway and so far over 2,000 patients have been given the vaccination.
If you are eligible and haven't yet had your vaccination you are not too late.
We are holding a further Saturday morning flu clinic on the 7 December between 8:30am and 12 noon. Eligible patients aged 18 and over who would like the vaccination can just turn up - there is no need to make an appointment.
As you may know there has been a delay in the delivery of the nasal spray vaccine which is suitable for the majority of patients under the age of 18. In view of this we are currently contacting the parents of eligible patients in this age group to make arrangements for their child to be vaccinated. We have been given revised guidance by NHS England which means that some children may be given the vaccination in the traditional way (by needle) rather than a nasal spray.
Given the number of children involved this may take some time. If you have any particular concerns about your child then please contact the surgery and a member of the nursing team will call you back.
Further details including information on who is eligible can be found on the Flu Vaccination page of the website.
