Update regarding pathology tests

You may have seen media reports relating to pathology tests (bloods, urine etc.) which GP practices carry out and are processed in labs at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Following an issue with an IT system upgrade, there were some delays to GP practices receiving the results for tests that were taken and sent to the labs between 29 July and 13 August.

All results have now been processed and are available in a format that practices can view.

You may find this unsettling if you had tests carried out around this time but please be assured that all urgent abnormal results have now been reported. Your practice will be in touch in the usual ways if they wish to discuss results with you further.

If your symptoms worsen or you are concerned, please follow the usual care routes by contacting the practice or use NHS 111. In an emergency call 999.

Healthwatch Norfolk | Family involvement in care: Experiences of Carers of people over 65

Healthwatch Norfolk is the independent voice for patients, service users and carers in the county. We gather people’s views of health and social care services in Norfolk and make sure they are heard by the people in charge.

Healthwatch Norfolk is working with Norfolk County Council (NCC) to understand the experiences of people over 65, and their family members or friends who help care for them.

We’d like to understand:

  • What makes it easier or harder for families or friends to get involved in caring for older people
  • What support would help families or friends become more involved.

By sharing your views, you’ll help Norfolk County Council better understand what carers go through and what they might do to improve support in the future.
