Update regarding pathology tests

You may have seen media reports relating to pathology tests (bloods, urine etc.) which GP practices carry out and are processed in labs at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Following an issue with an IT system upgrade, there were some delays to GP practices receiving the results for tests that were taken and sent to the labs between 29 July and 13 August.

All results have now been processed and are available in a format that practices can view.

You may find this unsettling if you had tests carried out around this time but please be assured that all urgent abnormal results have now been reported. Your practice will be in touch in the usual ways if they wish to discuss results with you further.

If your symptoms worsen or you are concerned, please follow the usual care routes by contacting the practice or use NHS 111. In an emergency call 999.

SATURDAY APPOINTMENTS for SEPTEMBER

Appointments and telephone calls are available to be ‘pre-booked’ with a doctor or nurse on selected Saturday mornings – usually, but not always, on alternate Saturdays.  Whilst the appointments are open to all, they have primarily been designed to help those patients who find it difficult to get to the surgery during our normal weekday opening hours.

Saturday appointments can be booked in advance, with the dates available from Reception and published on our website.

Appointments for September 2025 are available on:

SATURDAY 13th September

SATURDAY 27th September

Please note that the telephone lines are closed on Saturdays and the reception desk is also closed on Saturdays unless you are attending the surgery for a booked appointment.

(We do not routinely offer blood test appointments on Saturdays as there is no hospital collection service from the surgery at weekends.  However, patients are able to drop off their blood sample themselves at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital if they have restrictive work commitments which mean they can only attend surgery for a blood test on a Saturday).
